Mission Control, a space exploration and robotics company operating out of Carleton University’s Accelerator for entrepreneurs, will host Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Jim Bridenstine, Canadian Space Agency (CSA) President Sylvain Laporte, U.S. Energy, Environment, Science, Technology and Health Counselor, John Hill, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen at an event that will highlight Canada-U.S. collaboration in space.
Mission Control was selected by a NASA-funded research team to provide their Autonomous Soil Assessment System technology for simulated Mars missions next year in Iceland. Ewan Reid, CEO of Mission Control, is a graduate of Carleton’s Technology Innovation Management Program and has participated in the award-winning Lead to Win business incubator.
The event will connect with U.S. students at Kentucky’s Craft Academy, who will try operating the rover prototype remotely.
Carleton President Benoit-Antoine Bacon and Reid will make remarks, along with Hill, Bridenstine and Laporte.
