Horn-Miller, a Mohawk of Kahnawake, was seriously injured during the conflict after being stabbed by a bayonet. In this interview, she spoke about the power of sport, how it helped her recover from her injuries, and how it can play a role in Canada’s reconciliation efforts with Indigenous communities.

“Sport had played such a huge part in my life,” said Horn-Miller.

“On a personal level…it has helped me get through some of the hardest points.”
