Coming off of a 2015/2016 CIS University Cup quarterfinal appearance, the Carleton Ravens men’s hockey team were victorious at the first-ever Colonel By Classic with a 6-2 final over the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sept. 20 at the Arena at TD Place.

The victory was marked by a three-goal performance from new captain Michael McNamee, who led the offense for his team’s season-high six goals as the Ravens look to take another step toward the championship in 2016/2017.

“We took advantage of our opportunities in the first half of the game and that kind of changed things, but credit Ottawa,” says Marty Johnston, Ravens head coach. “They stuck with it and played well as a team.”

The second period was a high point for the Ravens, who scored four consecutive goals to push ahead of the Gee-Gees.
