Background:
There are more than 14.5 million people over the age of 45 in Canada. Known as baby boomers, this generation is at, or nearing, retirement yet remains a powerful consumer and social group committed to living active, independent and purposeful lives.
Moses Znaimer, who created more than 20 television channels and stations, including Citytv, CityPulse24, Bravo!, Book Television, Space: The Imagination Station, Canadian Learning Television and MuchMusic, has a new vision for his generation – not as boomers, but as “Zoomers.”
As the president of CARP, Canada’s national advocacy association for older Canadians and president of ZoomerMedia, publisher of Zoomer magazine, Moses has become a powerful voice for his generation and is working to promote and protect the interests, rights and quality of life for Canadians as they age.
This public lecture is presented by the Carleton University Alumni Association and the Ottawa Chapter of CARP.
