Some legal drugs, including the potent painkiller Oxycontin, are being widely abused.
Join Carleton Chemistry Professor Gerald Buchanan on Wed., May 19, for a discussion about some new approaches to pharmaceutical drug design and trends in the street use of licit and illicit drugs.
The discussion, followed by a question and answer session, will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wild Oat Café at 817 Bank Street in the Glebe.
The Science Café series is organized by the Faculty of Science at Carleton University to discuss relevant issues facing our society and how science can help solve real-world problems. Meet our award-winning faculty members as they share their excitement about science with the community. For more information, visit www.carleton.ca/science/cafe/.
