Carleton University Art Gallery invites you to HERE: The Carleton Community Art Show, which presents artwork made by the students, staff and faculty of Carleton University. HERE will take place from November 7 to 10, 2008 in the gallery, located in the St. Patrick’s Building.

HERE will present a diverse and exciting range of art – paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and textile arts – by the more than 80 members of the campus community who have entered their work.

Diana Nemiroff, the art gallery’s director, says: “We see the gallery as Carleton’s cultural hub and HERE reaches out to the community in an inclusive way. We look forward to being surprised by the hidden talent on campus!”

Everyone is welcome to the opening reception, which takes place on Friday, November 7, from 12 to 1 p.m. Dr. Roseann O’Reilly Runte, Carleton’s president, will open the exhibition at 12:20 p.m. and, in the spirit of celebrating cultural talent on campus, will read a poem.

You’re also invited to the HERE opening Party on Friday November 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Local artist collective Mix Media – DJ Memetic, Mr. Peers and Maki – will fill the gallery with live music, video-mixing and painting.
