Carleton University will honour the accomplishments of the class of 2025, as more than 5,400 students receive their well-earned degrees.

From June 16 to 20, campus will welcome well-wishing family and friends to celebrate their graduating students at one of the 15 ceremonies taking place throughout the week.

Kicking off the festivities, Carleton will celebrate the installation of its 17th President and Vice-Chancellor Wisdom Tettey on Monday, June 16, at the 9 a.m. ceremony. Tettey has served in this role since Jan. 1.

Carleton will also bestow two honorary doctorates. On Wednesday, June 18, Mona Nemer will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa, at the noon ceremony, in recognition of her international academic leadership in cardiovascular sciences and her work as a champion for Canadian science research. On Thursday, June 19, Hassan Ahmed will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Engineering, honoris causa, at the 3 p.m. ceremony in recognition of his distinguished career as an esteemed business leader and entrepreneur in wireless network technology and telecommunications.

Convocation week will close with the installation of Nikita (Nik) Nanos as Carleton’s 13th Chancellor on Friday, June 20, at the 3 p.m. ceremony. Nanos’ appointment as Chancellor is effective July 1.
