Randy Boswell

After a long, wide-ranging career with the Ottawa Citizen and Postmedia News, where he covered city hall, had a business column, wrote a variety of feature stories, served as city editor and developed a national history beat, Boswell became a full-time professor in 2012.
His courses explore the multitude of economic, technological, political and ethical issues facing the profession.

Waddell is the publisher of J-Source, an online journalism site run by Carleton and Ryerson journalism programs. J-Source is developing the Canada Press Freedom Tracker in partnership with World Press Freedom Canada.
The tracker is designed to capture a wide variety of press freedom violations across the country.Between 1984-91 Waddell was at the Globe and Mail as a reporter in Report on Business, economics reporter in Ottawa covering among other things the Canada-US free trade negotiations, Ottawa bureau chief in the 1988 federal election and from 1989-91 he was associate editor and then national editor of the Globe.For more on Waddell visit: https://carleton.ca/sjc/profile/waddell-christopher/.
