As a community of national and international reach and connection, Carleton University is shocked and saddened by the March 16 massacre of eight people including six Asian American women in Atlanta, Georgia.

The killings are but one incident in a surge of Anti-Asian violence and harassment around the world that is not new, but has deep historical roots. The university stands with sadness and solidarity with all members of the Asian diaspora in our community and beyond.

Carleton University condemns all forms of hate, racism and misogyny, and reaffirms its deep commitment to human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion.
