May 3, 2021
Starting May 5, 2021, Carleton’s Health and Counselling Services will begin offering appointments for AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for eligible people aged 40 or older in 2021. Priority will be given to:
- Patients who are registered with the Health and Counselling Services clinic, as per Ottawa Public health regulations
- Faculty, staff and approved contractors who are currently required to be on campus to perform work necessary to maintain business and research operations
- Faculty and staff who will be gradually returning to campus for the fall term, starting in August, as part of our return to campus plans
Effective immediately, those who meet the above criteria can schedule appointments between Monday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., subject to the number of vaccines that are received. Appointments can be booked with Health and Counselling Services by calling 613-520-6674. Please note that we cannot accommodate appointments for any family members at this time.
To support all Carleton employees in getting the COVID-19 vaccine, Carleton will be providing up to two hours of leave for each vaccination appointment. This time will not be deducted from any other leave balance (special, annual, etc.). Should you require more than two hours for your appointment, we encourage you to discuss this with your manager. Note that no proof of vaccination will be required to claim this leave. Should you have questions or concerns about leave for vaccination, please contact Debbie Orme-Rego in Human Resources.
