To All Members of the Carleton Community,

I am pleased to invite everyone to honour our 2021 graduates by accessing our special celebratory videos from the carleton.ca home page or the Grads 2021 web page which will go live on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 7 a.m. EDT.

The videos will feature messages from Chancellor Yaprak Baltacioglu, President Benoit-Antoine Bacon, Board Chair Dan Fortin, Senate Clerk Betina Appel-Kuzmarov, Provost Jerry Tomberlin and our faculty Deans. It will include an Indigenous blessing for our graduates led by Algonquin Elder Barbara Dumont-Hill, as well as a Traditional Honour Song from Theland Kicknosway.

In addition, we are highlighting a different faculty each day during the week of June 21 to 25. On the morning of each day, graduates in that faculty will receive an email with a link to a personalized experience which they can share with family and friends.

The schedule for Faculty Days is:

  • Monday, June 21 – Sprott School of Business
  • Tuesday, June 22 – Faculty of Science
  • Wednesday, June 23 – Faculty of Public Affairs
  • Thursday, June 24 – Faculty of Engineering and Design
  • Friday, June 25 – Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

During the week, many of our departments will celebrate virtually through social media and other means. You can find out more about those events on the Grads 2021 webpage.

If you would like to add your event to the Grads 2021 calendar, please contact Kathy.McKinley@carleton.ca. If you are looking for ideas to celebrate your graduates, I encourage you to visit the graduation toolkit page created by the Department of University Communications.

These virtual events reflect Carleton’s commitment to safely honouring our more than 5,600 graduates until we can celebrate in person on our beautiful campus.

On behalf of the entire Carleton community, allow me to extend heartfelt congratulations to all of our graduates!

Sincerely,

Suzanne Blanchard
Vice-President (Students and Enrolment) and University Registrar
