Arraiz Matute is available to talk to journalists about the impact of school closures on children and youth. Her research and pedagogical interests are at the intersection of identity, culture, race and migration. In the past, her research focused on the importance of relationships in teaching and learning as a site of healing and resistance for marginalized communities in the mainstream education system. Since last spring, she has been working on a project following racialized families and their experiences in Ottawa schools.
