Adrian Chan
Professor, Systems and Computer Engineering

Email: Adrian.Chan@carleton.ca

Chan is the director of Carleton’s Research and Education in Accessibility, Design and Innovation (READi). He is available to speak about the need for education in accessibility to create more accessible environments.

Alan Martino
Professor, Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies

Email: Alan.SantineleMartino@carleton.ca

Martino’s primary areas of interest include the sociology of sexualities, sociology of gender, and critical disability studies, as well as their intersections. Drawing on in-depth interviews with 46 adults with intellectual disabilities in Ontario, his current research explores how adults labeled with intellectual disabilities are kept out of sexual fields – spaces that bring together sexual actors in their pursuit for love, intimacy and pleasure – through a series of disabling social processes. Martino recently wrote a piece regarding how COVID-19 has impacted the family and intimate lives of people with disabilities.

Boris Vukovic
Professor, School of Industrial Design

Email: boris.vukovic@carleton.ca

Vukovic has worked at Carleton for more than 15 years supporting the success of students with disabilities – through leadership, direct student services, faculty development, applied research and professional standards. He has done research related to inclusive teaching practices of university faculty and disability-related assessments and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses. He is a member of the American Educational Research Association, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. In his role as the director of the Research, Education, Accessibility and Design (READ) Initiative, Vukovic is committed to establishing Carleton as a national leader in accessibility.
