Carleton University will host the 2019 IARR Mini-Conference: Positive Action in Relationships – an event bringing together relationship scientists to discuss the different ways that people can increase positivity in their relationships.

The three-day conference will include keynote speeches and symposia on a variety of topics, including the difficulty of changing relationships; regulating emotions; and the rewards and threats of pursuing relationships.

The conference will explore how self-expanding activities, gratitude, personal development and sexual intimacy can increase positivity in relationships. It will examine all positive components of relationship function, including positive behaviours, cognition, motivation and emotions.

In addition to expert presentations, the event will include a poster fair, data sharing and networking opportunities. The conference is chaired by Prof. Cheryl Harasymchuk of Carleton’s Department of Psychology.
