Carleton University will host the premiere screening of Rich Tapestries, a documentary by filmmaker Hasi Eldib about Prof. Jesse Stewart’s We Are All Musicians (WAAM) project. The documentary follows the inclusive community music work of WAAM over the course of two years.
When: Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 3 p.m.
Where: Second Floor Atrium and Theatre, Richcraft Hall, Carleton
Info: This event is free and open to the public.
Media are invited to attend the event and are asked to RSVP to claire.lewis@carleton.ca.
Rich Tapestries follows Stewart, a Juno award-winning artist, and the WAAM project’s inclusive approach to music-making. Rooted in the belief that music is a human right, WAAM has made an impact by facilitating accessible music-making initiatives with communities that may otherwise experience barriers due to socio-economic circumstances, musical inexperience or disability.
The screening will be followed by an interactive audio performance, a question and answer session with Stewart and Eldib, and a reception.
