Carleton University’s Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management will host the Right Honourable Herb Gray Lecture featuring NBC and MSNBC’s Ali Velshi, who will deliver the talk The Weaponization of Culture: The Rise of Identity Politics.

In addition to his duties as an MSNBC anchor, Velshi is a business correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. His lecture will be followed by a question and answer period.

This event is the first of an annual series of lectures to honour the legacy of the late Herb Gray, who served as deputy prime minister of Canada and was a former chancellor of Carleton University. It recognizes Gray’s contributions to both the academic and political spheres. The lecture will be broadcast on CPAC.
