Carleton University will host the expert panel event Regional Co-operation in the Wider Black Sea Area: Challenges and Opportunities. The event will bring together ambassadors from the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Co-operation (BSEC) member states and regional experts. The panel will discuss integration in the wider Black Sea area, including issues of economic development and security.

While the establishment of intergovernmental organizations in the Black Sea region indicate neighboring countries’ commitment to peaceful change, challenges remain – particularly regarding complex issues of regional security. This panel will seek to discuss the causes and consequences of economic co-operation in the region, as well as member states’ priorities.
