Carleton University will host a celebration of a milestone anniversary of the Ottawa Medical Physics Institute (OMPI) with the event OMPI30 Symposium: Celebrating 30 Years of Collaboration and Innovation in Medical Physics.

The symposium will bring together OMPI members, graduate students, alumni and all others with an interest in applications of physics to medicine for an afternoon of networking, collaboration and celebration.

When: Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at 1 p.m.
Where: Rooms 270, 272, 274, Residence Commons, Carleton
Info: This event is free and open to the public.

Media are invited to attend the event.

OMPI is a research centre at Carleton and a regional network of clinical, research and academic medical physicists tied together by a passion for research. It connects three essential facets of medical physics in Ottawa: unique federal government labs, comprehensive clinical facilities for imaging and cancer therapy, and Carleton’s Department of Physics.

The half-day symposium will celebrate the anniversary on the International Day of Medical Physics and the birthday of pioneering physicist, Marie Curie.
