The Carleton University Choir will host Legend and Legacy: Music of Mozart and Bernstein. The event will include performances of Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore K339 and, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth, a choral suite from West Side Story. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, the choir will also perform a movement from Karl Jenkins The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace.

Where: Glebe-St. James United Church, 650 Lyon Street, Ottawa
Info: Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Legend and Legacy will feature soprano Deanna Singh, mezzo Julia Brown, tenor David MacAdam and baritone Kevin Burke. The choir is directed by Laurie Hamilton and will be accompanied by pianist Joanne Moorcroft, organist Ruth Ann Read-Clay and a small instrumental ensemble.
Established almost 50 years ago, the choir is an ensemble of as many as 90 voices. The choir’s repertoire includes a broad range of stylistic periods, genres and cultures. The choir is open to Carleton students, faculty, staff, university community and the public.
