Carleton University’s School of Mathematics and Statistics will host the fourth annual International Ottawa Hockey Analytics Conference in conjunction with St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y. The conference is focused on collecting and analyzing hockey data and is open to students, academics, coaches, players and sports fans.

When: Friday, Sept. 14, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Where: 102 Azrieli Theatre, Carleton University

The conference begins with a Friday workshop on data visualization by Asmae Toumi, editor-in-chief of Hockey-graphs.com, as well as a book launch for Stat Shot: The Ultimate Guide to Hockey Analytics by hockey statistician and author, Rob Vollman.

Saturday’s conference will include a panel discussion, as well as student and expert presentations. It will be emceed by Scott Cullen of TSN.

The hockey analytics conference is co-organized by professors Shirley Mills of Carleton University and Michael Schuckers of St. Lawrence University.
