Carleton University will hold a news conference to release an extensive independent study of the value of the Peel Regional Police’s School Resources Officer (SRO) program conducted by professors Linda Duxbury and Craig Bennell.
The report is based on a survey of nearly 1,300 Grade 9 students, a review of daily records kept by SROs, ride-alongs during their workdays, a social return on investment analysis, and nearly 100 interviews with SROs and their supervisors, school administrators and students.
The entire report and summaries will be available online at 7 a.m. on Jan. 10 at www.carleton.ca/peel.
