Carleton University’s popular Biology Butterfly Show will be lifting off again this fall. The nine-day event will feature around 1,300 butterflies, representing 41 different species worldwide. Some butterflies love to land on colourful clothing, others will climb onto your hand.

When: Saturday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017. The exhibit will be open each day between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (On the weekend, lines close at 3 p.m. due to volume)

Where: Nesbitt Biology Building, Carleton University

There will be an advance media day on Friday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., it will include a pre-show event open to media and invited guests from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The pre-show will feature a showcase of Carleton Biology research and representatives from Let’s Talk Science.

More than 1,000 area students and 10,000 visitors dropped by the west side of Carleton’s campus to admire last year’s Butterfly Show. Admission to the butterfly show is free, although donations are welcome and can be made at the event or online.

For directions to the Nesbitt Building greenhouses please see the campus map.
