Carleton to Host Canadian Launch of International Energy Agency’s 2016 World Energy Outlook

Carleton will host the Canadian launch of the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) 2016 World Energy Outlook (WEO). The IEA will release its annual flagship publication on Nov. 16 in London, England.

Laura Cozzi, the IEA’s WEO lead writer and head of the IEA’s Energy Demand Outlook Division, will be in Ottawa to present the key findings of the Outlook, which will include a special focus on Mexico’s energy reforms.

The Carleton event will feature a presentation by Cozzi, followed by a discussion and Q&A session.

The WEO 2016 presents projections and energy trends to 2040 and their implications for energy security, and sustainable and economic development. Also covered in the report are renewables, oil, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy. This year, the regional focus is on Mexico’s energy sector. The WEO 2016 also presents an in-depth analysis of energy and water, as well as energy security (including input from the IEA’s new World Energy Investment report).
