Carleton’s Canada-India Centre for Excellence to Host Innovation Conference

Carleton University’s Canada-India Centre for Excellence will be hosting an innovation conference in partnership with the High Commission of India and the Indo-Canada Ottawa Business Chamber (ICOBC).

Remarks will be delivered by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, at 1:30 p.m.

Other speakers include David Lametti, parliamentary secretary to minister of International Trade and His Excellency Vishnu Prakash, high commissioner of India to Canada. The keynote speaker will be Krish Suthanthiran, president of Kitsault Energy.

When: Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Canada-India Innovation Conference panels will highlight emerging opportunities between the two countries. The first panel will discuss Canada-India innovation policies and trade promotion, followed by an infrastructure and investment panel focused on Canadian strengths in clean technology, digital infrastructure and defence, and effectively addressing India’s market.

Experts from academia, government and the private sector will discuss policy, technology and business collaboration opportunities, creative solutions to overcome challenges and how Canadians can build long-term relationships with their Indian counterparts.
