Carleton to Hold Sixth Annual Orientation for Newly Arrived Diplomats

Carleton University’s Initiative for Parliamentary and Diplomatic Engagement will hold the sixth annual orientation for newly arrived diplomats on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016.

The half-day orientation will offer sessions on Canada’s governance and parliamentary system, business and media, diplomatic access points, sources of information and influence, as well as social and family integration. It will also include a resource fair that features government and private organizations that provide services to diplomats.

Where: River Building, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa
When:  Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 from 8:15 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The orientation, presented in association with the Ottawa Diplomatic Association and the Parliamentary Centre, is free and open to newly arrived diplomats including, but not limited to, heads of mission, diplomats who may have missed earlier orientation and their spouses.

To date, more than 60 ambassadors and high commissioners and other diplomats representing over 100 countries have attended an orientation.
