Panitch’s research interests are in the areas of distributive justice and bioethics. Her work explores the extent that the concepts of equality, exploitation and commodification can serve as guides to the just distribution of health-related goods and services, both domestically and internationally.

Arnup is an historian by training, she has written extensively on the history of motherhood, child rearing, marriage and the family. She is the author of Education for Motherhood: Advice for Mothers in Twentieth Century Canada, a prize-winning examination of the ideology and experience of motherhood. She volunteers in a residential hospice, providing end of life care, and is writing a book on death and dying.
