Carleton University’s Landon Pearson Resource Centre for the Study of Childhood and Children’s Rights will be celebrating the United Nation’s International Day of the Girl with an event featuring a student showcase and remarks by guest speaker the Hon. Landon Pearson.

Opening remarks will be delivered at 2:45 p.m. by Pearson, a former senator and long-time Canadian children’s rights advocate.
The showcase will feature displays by students enrolled in the “Girlhoods in Contemporary Contexts” class. This class is one of a number of cross-listed courses in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology focusing on childhood and girlhood issues led by Prof. Virginia Caputo.
