Carleton Preparing First Year Students for Success with Math Program

Carleton University is helping to ensure that new students are prepared for a successful school year by offering Math Matters, a math refresher for students entering their first year. This program ensures that incoming students have the building blocks they need to succeed in Carleton’s math-intensive programs.

When: Wednesday, August 23 to Wednesday August 30, 2017
Where: Activities will take place in Loeb Building, Paterson Hall, Richcraft Hall and Steacie Building, Carleton University
Info: The cost of the program for incoming students is $250 including HST and textbook fees. Details and registration are available online.

Math Matters is a one-week optional math program for students entering Carleton degree programs with a strong math component. It is open to students entering Architectural Studies, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Health Sciences, Industrial Design, International Business, Mathematics and Science programs. It is designed to provide the knowledge, strategies and support students need to thrive in first-year university math courses.

Math Matters will give first-year students the opportunity to revisit math concepts, meet other students in their degree programs and become familiar with the Carleton campus.
