Alumna Yaprak Baltacioglu Honoured at Public Policy Forum Testimonial Dinner

On Thursday, April 20 Carleton alumna Yaprak Baltacioglu was honoured at the Public Policy Forum‘s 30th Annual Testimonial Dinner.

The evening, hosted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre, was a celebration of exemplary Canadians who have made significant contributions in policy and social justice and who have helped bring Canada to the world, and the world to Canada.

“Yaprak Baltacioglu is one of Canada’s most distinguished, most respected, public servants,” said Prime Minister Trudeau.

“Public service, for me, has been a journey of wonder and love for my country and it’s people,” said Baltacioglu.

Attended by more than 1,500 guests, the dinner paid tribute to seven honourees who spoke of the inspiring, and oftentimes trying, experiences that empowered them to make a stand in their own communities and to bring about broader sustainable change in a global context.

Yaprak Baltacıoğlu graduated with a master’s degree from Carleton’s School of Public Administration in 1989. She was appointed Secretary of the Treasury Board in 2012. Read more.
