Carleton’s Canada-India Centre and Carleton International are pleased to mark International Women’s Day 2017 with the panel event Gender and Empowerment 2.0 featuring the Honourable Navdeep Bains, minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.

The event will discuss what’s next for women’s empowerment and how it relates to women in the workforce, particularly in science and management, and in developing countries.
Bains will deliver an opening address. Following his remarks, he will participate in a panel discussion with leading Carleton faculty members:
- Banu Örmeci, professor and Jarislowsky Chair in Water and Global Health
- Lorraine Dyke, professor and associate dean, Sprott School of Business
- Gopika Solanki, associate professor, Political Science
The panel will be moderated by Pauline Rankin, associate vice-president (Research and International).
Refreshments will be served.
