Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism, of the research-intensive Faculty of Engineering and Design, will host the public lecture Second Nature with West 8 Urban Design and Landscape Architecture.
When: Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Auditorium, National Gallery of Canada, 380 Sussex Drive, Ottawa
Info: This is a free event and is open to the public.
The lecture will focus on West 8’s characteristically Dutch approach to urban design and landscape architecture, specifically in the production of nature. This method envisions a ‘second nature’ of constructed landscapes that respond to pragmatic demands and also reinforce the culture to which they belong.
About the Forum Lecture Series
A long-standing tradition of the Carleton School of Architecture and Urbanism, the Forum Lecture Series originated in 1968. Through a generous 2004 endowment by its founding sponsors Barry Hobin & Associates, IBI Group, GRC Architects, Trinity Development Group, Merkley Supply and Charlesfort Development, the Forum Lecture Series is able to continue to host leading experts in the field of architecture. The free, public lectures are held approximately once-per-month between September and March.
