Carleton to Host International Panel on National Action Plans

Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) in the Faculty of Public Affairs will be hosting a panel entitled Building Effective Women, Peace and Security National Action Plans: Lessons from the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. The panel will focus on lessons-learned from the national action plans of the three nations to ensure women’s participation in peace and security matters.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: 2224 River Building, 1125 Colonel By Dr., Ottawa, ON.

The panel will be composed of experts from Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands as well as Global Affairs Canada. Panelists include:

  • Elisabet Hedin, Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA)
  • Sine Holen, Norwegian Defence University College
  • Ella Van den Heuvel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Netherlands
  • Anne Burgess, Global Affairs Canada

The panel will be moderated by Pauline Rankin, associate vice-president (Research and International), commentators will be members of NPSIA and the Faculty of Public Affairs. A question and answer session will follow the panel presentation.
