Carleton Announces New Director of Personal and Planned Giving

The Department of University Advancement is pleased to introduce Doug Puffer as the new Director of Personal and Planned Giving at Carleton. He started in his new role earlier this month.

Puffer is a recognized expert in gift planning in Canada, with more than 31 years of fundraising success in higher education and environmental conservation. From 2007 until June 2016, he was senior director, planned giving at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C.  Prior to that, he was senior planned giving officer at Queen’s University for nearly a decade.

He is a national board member at the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, has served as a mentor with the Greater Vancouver CAGP Chapter and was a former president of the Quinte CAGP Chapter.  He also serves on the Editorial Board for Gift Planning in Canada.  He is an active member of Canadian Charitable Annuities Association and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Puffer joins Carleton at the height of the Collaborate Campaign, the most ambitious fundraising effort in Carleton’s history with the aim of raising $300 million for Carleton students, faculty and researchers.
