Carleton University’s Virtual Ventures, along with the Faculty of Engineering and Design, the Ontario Network of Women in Engineering (ONWiE) and CU-Women in Science and Engineering, will host an engineering badge day for 60 Girl Guides, as well as a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) badge day for 20 Pathfinders. The girls will participate in several hands-on activities to earn their badges.
This event offers a fun and interactive way to introduce girls to the world of engineering. The girls will participate in engineering activities, interact with female engineering students and faculty members, tour engineering labs and, by the end of the day, they will have fulfilled their engineering/STEM badge requirements.
When: Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Canal Building, Carleton University
Activities will be set up in rooms 2400, 3101 and 3400, with groups rotating through them.
