From May 3 to 5, Guitar Now! brings together some of Canada’s and the world’s finest guitarists for a three-day series of workshops and concerts at Carleton University. The event provides guitar students aged 14 and older, the opportunity to learn the craft from the masters in a series of explorations, workshops and concerts.
“Roddy Ellias and the Carleton team have put together the first eclectic international guitar gathering of this kind in Canada,” said Music Prof. James Wright. “Guitar Now! brings together a stellar lineup of some of the world’s finest guitarists from L.A., Brazil, New York, Europe and across Canada, for a series of clinics and concerts for guitarists and music lovers of all ages and tastes.”
It is recommended that participants bring an instrument to the workshops, preferably an acoustic instrument rather than an instrument needing amplification. While select students may get to perform in the workshops, the majority of the workshops will be discussion/lecture format. There will be potential playing time in after-hours jam sessions, etc.
When: Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5, for a detailed schedule please visit: http://guitarnow2013.com/Schedule.html.
Where: All workshops take place at Carleton’s Kailash Mital Theatre.
