Sprott Professor Ian Lee to be Awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal

Carleton University is pleased to announce that Ian Lee, assistant professor in the Sprott School of Business, will be awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston. Lee was chosen to receive the medal for his many contributions to Canada through his leadership in making economic and demographic issues understandable to Canadians. The ceremony will take place at Parliament Hill on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.

This new commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne as Queen of Canada. The medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements made by 60,000 Canadians who will be recognized throughout 2012.
